My Goofballs

One of my favorite things in the world is watching and listening to Matthew and Mallory play together.  A good runner up is checking what pictures are on the camera after they've had a little time together.  Here's what I found today on the memory card after they played while I was in the shower. 

In case you're wondering, that's a ceiling medallion on Mallory's head.  Don't worry, I didn't know the official term either.  Its one of those things you see on some ceilings around fans or light fixtures.  We're still working on getting our "5 minute" fan hung in the living room that we bought last weekend.  I don't think they accounted for 50 year old houses in their 5 minute installation.

Of course Puppy, the fourth member of our family, had to get in on the fun.

We went to pick strawberries with our play group friends this morning. It was a beautiful day and we all had a great time.

Easter 2010...'cause everyone else is blogging it

We had a great time this weekend during all our Easter fun. 

On Saturday we got to celebrate our friend Lissie turning 1. She had a great Easter Egg Hunt birthday party.  Mallory had fun practicing her egg hunting skills, but could stand to be a little more aggressive. Thankfully, she wasn't too upset picking up empty eggs that the faster kids had taken the candy from and thrown aside.

Sunday was church, egg hunting, eating, running, resting, and more eating. It was a little wet that morning, so this was our egg hunt at church.  It was a little crazy to say the least.  My dad called it an "egg scramble".

It was a tad overwhelming for Mallory so she wasn't too into the egg hunting, but she was happy opening up a few and eating jelly beans off the ground.

Mallory had fun walking with PaPaw. I think he liked it too.

We decided to just eat light for lunch and then head to Landry's for dinner that evening.  It was good times and a delicious meal.

Her other new thing is to expect that all restaurants have cones and an ice cream machine. Unfortunately for her, Landry's does not.  When we were finished with dinner she started asking for a cone. We told her sorry, but they didn't have any. That didn't really work for her so she went to work batting her eyes at her daddy. I'm pretty sure that if someone had offered him a cone for $50, he would have bought one for his little girl. She sure does have him wrapped around her sweet little finger.

It was a great weekend, but I'm looking forward to Easters in the future so Mallory can learn what it is really all about!

Egg Hunt #1

We went to the egg hunt at Nanna's church this afternoon. Last year, Mallory was very hesitant going after the eggs. Not so much this year...when she saw the eggs, she was off! She LOVES her pink basket so putting eggs in it was very fun. 

Just Some Pictures

This post has no point other than to share some random pictures that I just cleaned off the camera.  But aren't pictures all you really care about?

 No, we didn't have a random cold front.  Mallory was insisting to wear her jacket with her pjs yesterday morning.

I realized lately that there are almost no recent pictures of Mallory and I. This was the best we could do after church a few weeks ago.

These pj shorts didn't fit so good the intended way, but Mallory thought they made an excellent hat!  (Please don't judge us for the Christmas pjs.  Mallory loves to wear her "ho ho's" and "candy canes".

Adventures at CVS

Yesterday was another BIG shopping day for me at CVS.  Because it was one of the highlights of my Spring Break, here are the details.

 

2 packages of Pampers (27 count):  Sale price $8.97 - 1.5 coupon = $7.47 each.  Earned $6 extraBucks








 

Garnier Fructis Shampoo & conditioner:  Sale price $3 - 1 coupon = $2 each.  Earned $1 extraBuck

Crest ProHealth Toothpaste: Sale price $3.99 - 1.5 coupon = $2.49.  Earned $2 extraBucks

 

Colgate toothpaste: Sale price $3.99 - 1 coupon = $2.99.  Earned $3.99 extraBucks.  Yep, I made money on this one.

Crest Elmo toothpaste: $2.99 - .50 coupon = $2.49  No extraBucks on this one, just a little girl who really needed a stomach bug free toothbrush and loves Elmo!








But wait, there's more... I had $23 in CVS email coupons and extraBucks from last time so all I spent for all of this was $4.17.  Plus I earned $12.99 in extraBucks for next time (which will be soon when I go back for more diapers with Matthew's CVS card since I hit the limit with mine). 

Livestock Show

Today was another BEAUTIFUL day, and Mallory and I got to enjoy it with our great friends Sean, Tiffany, and Caroline at the Livestock Show.  Why not Matthew?  Poor guy picked up a stomach bug somewhere, but insisted we go without him.

There was a great "Fun on the Farm" area that the girls got to go through and pretend to feed chickens, gather eggs, milk a cow, and pick vegetables.

They got baskets to carry their eggs, vegetables, and other farm things in.  Mallory is big into carrying bags and baskets these days, so she loved walking around with her farm basket.  She did NOT love giving it back at the end.  I had to pry it out of her hands!

They even got to milk a cow. I'm sure this will be the picture from today that Mal and Caroline will choose to display when they are roomies someday at Tech.

Time for a break, farm work is tough!

Their favorite activity, playing with the automatic hand sanitizer dispenser.  It startled Mallory the first time she stuck her hand under it and it spit foam on her. After the shock wore off, they entertained themselves for a long time getting sanitizer and rubbing it in over and over!

Mallory and Caroline had so much fun together and made sure to give each other hugs and kisses when we left. It was a great day for everybody (except for Matthew)!

 

Christmas in March

Last night I unpacked a big tub of clothes and toys we brought home from Anita's last week. I mentioned to Matthew that it was going to be like Christmas for Mallory.  When she got up this morning she reacted like Santa had gathered the reindeer and made a special trip just to bring her a Christmas in March.  She went back and forth between the books, and the doll house, and the Dora ball over and over again.  The whole time she kept repeating "My book," "My house", or "My ball" again and again.  Cute, but makes me wonder if we need to work on sharing.

Matthew's back has been acting up again this week so these two haven't gotten to play together like they usually do.  Mallory has had a hard time understanding that Daddy can't hold her "up high" or do her other favorite tricks, so this snuggle time was good for both of them.
